FE7 Meta- Con scores and apparent heights

Original Post on Tumblr

Characters from FE7 grouped by their Constitution scores and then further organized by the apparent height of their sprites. I was curious as to how closely the two correlated.

A few points of errata:
-Some height comparisons are eyeballed, particularly in situations where the sprites are the same size but the angles are different. Also a few situations where hair is clearly adding a little to the height, like Lyn's ponytail or Matthew's spiky business. What I'm saying is that there is margin for error in here.
-Con scores are all the score at recruitment for PC's, and no consideration has been given as to who is a prepromote and/or how many points of con a character gains on promotion. Exception is Wallace, who is treated as though he was recruited as a General.
-Nils and Ninian actually have separate con scores, I was surprised.

Hahaha, I love how you get all these weird postures, and then you get to Pent, who is a straight-backed perfect A+ student.

Anyway, this is nifty. While going along the chart I saw the variation in each category and I was like "yeah right, no correlation --" but then I glanced back up at 3 from the 16s and it was like ... woah.

To my eyes it looks like they're roughly comparable within +- 2 points. Not much of a difference looking between 5 and 7, but it starts to get noticeable when it comes to 5 and 8, for example.

If you do the painstaking work of collecting the numbers (pixels from base to top of head? what a disgusting task...) I'd gladly cram the stats and make the graph.

Oh, this is neat.

The thing I've always wondered about Constitution is whether the armor weight/mass is included in the final number. Also, what's the deal with Merlinus? I get that it has to do with him being tied to the supplies, but it kind of skews the numbers a bit. Why not just set it at, idk, 50 or 100 for accuracy's sake? P:
